All set (hopefully)

Greetings folks,

Sorry I have not given an update since the installation of the stents. It has been a crazy week, and I honestly just haven’t felt compelled to write.

The good news is that my creatinine levels dropped precipitously. I’m not all the way back to normal, but my kidney function is good enough for candidacy for the clinical trial.Β

Kim and I went back to Nashville on Thursday, and I had the CT-guided biopsy Friday morning. Some people have asked when I will have the results of the pathology; I don’t think there is any result for me to get…I already know that it’s cancer πŸ™‚ Β I think this is just a requirement of the study for genotyping the tumor. I have no reason to think they’re going to discover significant differences from what we’ve already learned from previous pathology, but the study does exclude particular genotypes and they have to be sure.

As it stands, I’m scheduled to begin treatment on Wednesday (yes!). Kim and I will travel up on Tuesday and stay a couple of nights. Once we settle into a routine, we hope this will only require a one-night stay, but since we don’t know how I’ll respond to the treatment, we think it best to stay the night after I receive these new drugs.

I’m glad that it is Sunday. I’m exhausted, and I need to hear the Word preached. I long for fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I hope to humbly worship God. I need to be nourished from the communion table. I look forward to being sent out once again with purpose.

Blessings,

Brent
