Here’s a view of my hotel room at the Wyndham. Ok, it’s a suite. My mother and Kim are with me. I’m catching up on work and awaiting our first doc appt tomorrow with the oncologist. Hopefully, we’ll come up with a treatment plan that we can have confidence in. The appt is 2:30pm central. Appreciate your prayers, as always. We’ll know more, like when we can come home, tomorrow evening, I suspect.
As I write, the End Title theme of Shawshank Redemption is playing. Apropro? Â Who doesn’t remember the words of Red at the end: “Get busy living or get busy dying.” [sorry, remainder removed for younger audiences]
But he is right.
Love that movie … but you more!!!
“Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things.”

Brent,
So glad you were released from the hospital!!
Hopefully the doctors will have a good plan today, and the wait for the appointment will not seem too long.
We have been watching all the news about the flooding in Houston, and we do hope you will be careful in all that water.
Charlie and I are praying for you and your family daily. Charlie has had a prayer wristband, and he has prayed for you daily since early February. He takes the wristband off to shower, and that is when he prays. His prayer band recently broke, so now he wears a rubber band. It did not bother me for him to have a rubber band on his wrist when he wore long sleeves, but now it does look odd. I took pity on him the other day and ordered another prayer wristband from Amazon. It will come by May 10. So as for now the rubber band will suffice!
Love,
Nancy Lester

Hey brother,
You are a fantastic writer. I thank you for putting your heart level thoughts here for us to key in how to pray.
I’ll be thinking eternally (not positively!) along with you as I face another check up scan in the morning
